Physical Therapists

Gordon Smith M.S.P.T.
Evergreen Office

Gordon opened Mountain Physical Therapy. PC in 1997. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1992 and Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1994 from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. He is a Certified Functional Capacity Evaluator. Over the last 13 years, Gordon has worked with large corporations including Roadway Express, Boeing, American Airlines and Food Services of America to develop injury reduction and early return to work programs. His practical approach and hands-on experience in manual labor industry enable him to effectively bridge the gap between employer and employee. He loves motivating people to make lifestyle changes through exercise and fitness. He loves to telemark ski, fly fish, mountain bike and support his three children in their athletic endeavors.

Katherine Major M.P.T., C.S.C.S. Buffalo Hill Office

Katherine joined Mountain Physical Therapy in 1999. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia in 1984. She earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Hahnemann University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1989. Katherine has worked in a variety of settings including acute care, home health and sports medicine. Her focus over the last ten years has been on orthopedics with a special interest in manual therapy. In 2003, she received certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. She enjoys hiking, fly fishing, mountain biking and telemark skiing.

Trevor Eccles
 D.P.T.
Evergreen Office

Trevor joined Mountain Physical Therapy in 2007. Trevor graduated from Oregon State University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Sport Science. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana in 2005. Trevor’s areas of special interest are in the knee, the foot and ankle, and the shoulder. He is currently the only Physical Therapist certified in ASTYM in the Flathead Valley. His leisure pursuits include mountain biking, weight training, fishing and hunting.

Amy Fischer

Buffalo Hill and Evergreen Offices

Amy joined Mountain Physical Therapy in 2007. Amy graduated from Eastern Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry in 2000. She earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Montana in 2002. Amy’s areas of special interest are Aquatic Therapy, Pilates and Yoga for Rehab and Muscle Energy techniques. She enjoys working with athletes, especially pre-season conditioning for snow skiing and seasonal sports. Amy has been involved with community education and instruction for injury prevention at The Big Mountain and has instructed in equine activities. When Amy is not focusing on her career, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, camping, fishing and biking. She was also a professional barrel racer for two years!

Amber joined Mountain Physical Therapy in 2007. She graduated from Whitefish High School in 2003. She attended Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in French. She also speaks Russian and German. She played volleyball and was a student athletic trainer in college and high school. She still enjoys volleyball and swing dancing.

Sharon Rivera

 Evergreen Office

Sharon Rivera joins us at the Evergreen clinic as the billing assistant. She is blessed with a Billybumbler and a Dwarf Mccaw and several horses. She is married to the most handsome man in the Flathead Valley and hails from Fortine Country. When she has a few free minutes, she enjoys riding those horses and playing her fiddle.

JoAnne Robinson Director of Finance

JoAnne has worked for Mountain Physical therapy for over ten years. She is a graduate of Flathead High School and earned her Medical Administrative Assistant degree from Helena Vocational Technical Institute in 1992. JoAnne enjoys gardening and spending time with her daughter.

Say Hello to Janelle Lore-McCracken, AC SM-Personal Trainer and a new part of our MPT Fitness family.

Janelle hails from the windy, yet pretty state of Wyoming. She graduated from die University 0f Wyoming with a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology in 2004. As an undergraduate, Janelle was an essential key to the 2004 USCSA Women’s Nordic Skiing Championship and participated in many running races.  In 2005, Janelle received her personal training certification from the American College 0f Sports Medicine and through her love 0f fitness, began her quest to get people fit. She is excited to be a part 0f the successful fitness team at MPT Fitness. Janelle enjoys any activity outside as well as swimming, running, and lifting. She has completed several triathlons and has her sights set to complete an Iromnan triathlon in the near future. Janelle lives in Columbia Falls with her husband, Pat, and the two most famous husky mixes in Montana, Mack Dog and Shorty.

Come by MPT Fitness to welcome Janelle, taste one of her fabulous smoothie creations and watch her do pull-ups.
